Virtual visits are appropriate for a variety of care needs, including pre-procedure visits, routine gastrointestinal problems (reflux, diverticultis, heartburn, etc.), routine follow-up visits, chronic disease management, liver disease questions, medication management, reviewing test or lab results, and obtaining general gastrointestinal medical advice.
There are a couple technological requirements we suggest to ensure you have a seamless experience. Make sure you are using a device with a webcam, microphone and strong internet connection, such as a laptop, mobile phone or tablet.
For the optimal experience, use the Google Chrome web browser on your laptop or desktop computer. For iphones, the default browser, Safari, works best.
Most commercial insurance plans cover virtual visits just as they would an in-office visit with your doctor, but speak with your insurer to confirm. In advance of the visit you will receive a call from our office to confirm your insurance and demographic information. As with any office visit, we will collect the normal copay amount during the check-in process. After your virtual visit we will submit a claim to your insurance carrier for full payment.
Remember to use a device with a webcam, microphone and strong internet connection, such as a laptop, mobile phone or tablet. For the optimal experience, use the Google Chrome web browser on your laptop or desktop computer. If you are unable to open the secure link or have any issues, you will be called within 5-10 minutes of being sent your link to complete the conference with a secure audio connection. At any time during the video teleconference, if you wish to convert to an audio (phone) call only, just inform Dr. McBride and he will call you back immediately on a secure line.
Please review the common issues outlined above. If this information does not address your needs, call our office for immediate assistance at 703-455-5556. We will do our best to help address any issues in advance or during your visit as the need arises.
